Google Glass Update Delivers New Now Cards, Video Controls and Video Player Controls

The monthly update for
Google Glass has pushed out, and the XE8 update brings a slew of new Google Now cards, new voice commands, and a more finely tuned video player app. Google updated its Google Glass augmented reality glasses on Monday and should be available for all devices in the next few days.
The new Google Glass Now Cards includes new functionality:
Restaurants, hotels, events – Be reminded of dinner reservations, hotel bookings and concerts. You’ll see these reminders for places that sent you an email confirmation.
Movies – Find showtimes and movie information for nearby theaters.
Emergency alerts – Change your plans on the fly when severe thunderstorm or flash flood warnings are in effect.
Traffic – Get traffic conditions and alternate routes before you leave for work.
Weather – Know how to dress before stepping out the door.
Sports – See live scores for your favorite teams.

New voice commands include “Take a note” (first supported by Evernote) and “Post an update” (first supported by Path). Finally, the video player app lets you tap to pause or play, as well as swipe to fast forward or rewind.
Other small additions, like a new Volume card in the settings, hashtags in captions and a new "send a birthday message" card round out the update.
The update is rolling out now and should start hitting Google Glass units in the coming days. Google typically updates Glass once a month, so we can’t wait to see what next month has in store.
