AVA Velocity reveals new SWIFT 250 cafe racer

AVA Velocity has revealed the new 250 Swift motorcycle which designer Adrian Van Anz explains is inspired by the bikes of the 60s and 70s bad-boy romanticism, when tough guys wore leather jackets and smoked cigarettes as they rode.


Van Anz says the Swift is a hybrid: a small, lightweight motorcycle that performs like a bigger one—something that replicates the vintage look of older machines, but with the mechanical qualities of newer models.The bike boasts a OHC Single Cylinder 4 Stroke engine and has a fuel tank capacity of 2.43 gallons making it ideal for street riders.It’s a little sports racing bike that is street-legal,” he says. It will also weigh less than 200 pounds.



Although it will initially only be available in the US, motoring fans around the world will be no doubt be licking their lips at the prospect of this new bike.


Mr Van Anz emphasised the importance of the design which takes him back to a time when men wore leather jackets and smoked as the rode.

"I've always loved early 60s Grand Prix-style racing bikes. It was a wild period. I liked the aesthetic of the entire sport then," he added.



The 250 Swift is expected to retail at just under $4,000 (£2,550).

Sapphire Displays by Apple

The electronics giant is getting ready for massive production of sapphire displays.  Speculation has been running rampant about Apple's plans for mobile devices with a sapphire screen and it is finally appear to be firming up on Thursday. Apple uses sapphire for the ID fingerprint sensor in the iPhone 5S The iPhone maker recently placed a large order with GT Advanced Technologies for furnaces and chambers used in making sapphire displays. According to 9to5Mac, GT Advanced has already received 518 furnace and chamber systems, which would let it build 103 million to 116 million 5-inch displays per year. (Another 420 machines are still on order, which would nearly double that production output.) Moreover, GT Advanced also has ordered Intego Sirius Sapphire Display Inspection Tool components, which would work to make sure that the displays meet high-quality standards. gStick: A Pen Shaped Mouse Mimicking a pen in shape and size, gStick is looking to join the ranks of alternative mouse designs that aim to attain extra degree of precision, difficult to attain using a conventional mouse.
