LG G Pad 8.3 Tablet Unveiled Ahead of IFA

South Korean technology major LG on Sunday unveiled their much-anticipated G Pad 8.3 tablet, just days ahead of the international electronics trade show IFA 2013 which is scheduled to be on 6 September. The LG G Pad has leaked a few times over the past few weeks, and this morning we’re getting tons of information. If the leaked image below is accurate their new tablet will look just like a larger smartphone.

"Complementing our G Series smartphones, the introduction of the LG G Pad 8.3 further strengthens LG's premium lineup consisting of our most cutting-edge devices," said Dr Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

"Our G Pad is just another example of LG delivering devices with the unique selling points consumers around the world will appreciate," he added.

All of this arrives in a slate that is just 8.33mm thick, and weighing just 338g. LG has sprinkled some software enhancements on the G Pad 8.3 in the form of QPair and QSlide.

QPair will let you receive messages and calls from Jelly Bean-powered smartphones on the G Pad 8.3, which is a nice feature, while QSlide lets you run three apps on-screen at once. LG has also provided KnockOn, which allows you to just tap the screen twice to wake the slate up.

The G Pad 8.3 tablet will be showcased at the IFA Berlin 2013, with 16GB on-board flash as the minimum storage. It'll arrive in either black or white. It will be soon be released in major markets of North America, Asia and other select regions in the fourth quarter. Price of the device is expected to be revealed during the launch.
