Double BIOS Graphics Cards announces by EVGA

Double BIOS Graphics Cards

Double BIOS feature for a select range of its NVIDIA GeForce GTX 700 series graphics cards has been announced by EVGA. The graphics card is able to support a secondary BIOS, for performance tweaking or as a backup for the  card's primary BIOS.

The BIOS selector of one of the supported EVGA GTX 780 graphics cards.

According to EVGA, there are some cards that support up to three BIOSes, these cards are the EVGA GTX 770, EVGA GTX 770 Classified and the EVGA GTX 770 Classified HC. The secondary BIOS will allow the user to tweak the performance of the card to his heart's content. The primary BIOS of the card is used when the user requires stable and reliable performance. The secondary BIOS is also a backup for the primary one in the event it gets corrupted.

This secondary BIOS feature for graphics cards isn't new. Most AMD Radeon HD 7970 graphics cards feature a Dual-BIOS switch that allows the user to toggle between the normal and overclocked BIOS.
